Somme Battlefield Pipe Band Honour Great War Pipers

At 11:00 on the 1st July every year, in between their commitments at various ceremonies on the Somme, the Somme Battlefield Pipe Band come to Longueval to honour all the men who played the pipes to rally the troops during the Great War.

The Pipe Band is like a big family, where they encourage the young ones to carry on the traditions they have started.

It’s a very personal tribute, but all are welcome, so if you are on the Somme on 1st July and you love the pipes, stop for a moment and listen.
